Comedian Judy Gold's second trip to Israel was part of a Pride mission organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. However, as tensions escalated due to Israel's military actions in Iran, the anticipated Tel Aviv Pride Parade was canceled. Gold experienced significant stress during her stay, as sirens warned of missile strikes, leading to anxiety and sleeplessness. Despite the chaos, she managed to maintain her humor and share a story about creatively using a gym mat during her ordeal, reflecting resilience amidst turmoil.
I did not sleep for five or six days. Maybe 30 minutes. I slept in my clothes. My bag was right there. Water. Passport. Everything in case you are there [in a bomb shelter] for days.
The one thing I did was brilliant: I took a mat from the hotel gym and all of a sudden everyone said, 'I'm doing that.' There were no mats left in the gym, but I hid it under a car in the parking garage.
