Ruben Dias, a 29-year-old Manchester City player, denied cheating on Love Island host Maya Jama amid speculation about their breakup. He said his grandfather asked whether he had cheated because the claim appeared repeatedly in the news. Dias stated it was wrong to lie or portray an opposite image for clickbait and said he did not cheat or intend or feel tempted to. He added that the reasons for the breakup are private and that he and Jama handled it maturely. Dias has played for City since 2020 and signed a two-year contract extension in August 2025. Jama is a judge on ITV’s The Masked Singer. The couple confirmed their relationship in April 2025 after reportedly meeting at MTV’s Europe Music Awards in 2024.
