Police were called to the Nordheim Court apartments after she was discovered around 10:00 p.m. and she was pronounced dead at the scene. The King County Medical Examiner reported she was stabbed more than 40 times. Surveillance video placed a suspect in the laundry room during the killing, and the suspect remained inside for several minutes before leaving alone. Police released still images that led to tips and a call from the suspect’s brother identifying Christopher Leahy. Leahy surrendered to Bellevue Police and was charged with first-degree murder, with documents alleging premeditated intent and use of a knife or similar instrument. Fingerprints recovered in blood smears on the outside of the laundry room door connected him to the scene.
