Matt Bomer wanted to 'experience joy' with Mid-Century Modern role
Briefly

In his latest sitcom 'Mid-Century Modern,' Matt Bomer reflects on the necessity of joy in response to America’s political climate. Starring alongside queer icons Nathan Lane and Nathan Lee Graham, the show portrays three friends navigating life together after the passing of a friend. Bomer highlights the audience's need to laugh during challenging times, linking the show's humor to the wider societal mood. He expresses excitement about working with esteemed colleagues to create something uplifting, after years of portraying darker characters, making the comedy a refreshing new venture.
I wanted to be [in] a comedy and experience joy on the set and I think once we started filming in front of an audience, we realised that other people - especially in this country right now - really need to laugh.
So when this opportunity came around I thought, 'You know what? To get to work with Nathan Lane and Ryan Murphy and this cast and these creatives and these writers and come to work and laugh and try to make other folks laugh,' that was really appealing to me.
