Kehinde Wiley responds to woman's lawsuit alleging sexual assault
Briefly

Kehinde Wiley has been sued by Ogechi Chieke, who claims he sexually assaulted her at a restaurant in 2007 after they met at an art gallery opening. Chieke alleges Wiley pressed against her and made unwanted sexual advances, causing her severe emotional distress. Wiley denies the allegations, calling them unfounded and suggesting a pattern of attempts to extort him. The lawsuit is filed under New York's Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Law, permitting civil suits despite the passage of time. Wiley previously faced similar accusations last year from four men.
"As a result of Wiley's violent sexual assaults, Ms. Chieke has suffered from severe psychological and emotional distress," the lawsuit states.
Wiley stated, "There is no truth to Ms. Chieke's allegations. I've never met her, nor do I know her," calling the lawsuit a 'blatant money-grab.'
Wiley added, "It's hardly a coincidence that this latest scam is occurring in the same 12-month period where others tried to shake me down."
