The 2025 Easter Parade and Bonnet Festival in New York City was a vibrant celebration of queerness, attended by many participants flaunting their unique styles. Fernando Camino, a representative of SuperFriends NYC, expressed the joy he felt amidst the colorful display of creativity, including his homemade lavender hat. He emphasized the festival's atmosphere as a blend of Easter festivities and Pride celebrations, highlighting inclusivity in New York City. Additionally, he noted a special encounter with a 103-year-old attendee who embraced the joyful spirit of the day.
"The Bonnet Festival this year was so gay-in the most colorful, joyful, and fabulous way," Camino said.
"From drag queens to rainbow flags, the whole event felt like a celebration of queerness and self-expression.
"Being part of it reminded me how vibrant and inclusive New York City can be. I'm so glad I showed up in lavender."
