During a performance of Les Misérables at the Kennedy Center, drag artists Tara Hoot, Ricky Rosé, Vagenesis, and Maria Con Carne attended in formal attire, despite Trump's disapproval of drag performances. They mingled with political figures, including members of the Trump administration. Tara Hoot expressed excitement on Instagram about their experience, sharing that they felt welcomed and brightened the audience's mood. Their attendance was facilitated by tickets donated by season ticket holders through the Qomittee, an organization of politically active drag performers.
We were front and center, and it was delightful. Hopefully the cast got to see us... We were very, very excited to be at the Kennedy Center.
We had so much fun seeing the Kennedy Center and the cast of 'Les Mis.' Kudos to all of you bringing art to the world.
