DC Jewish Museum shooting victim Yaron Lischinsky's body to be returned to Israel Friday
Briefly

Yaron Lischinsky, an Israeli embassy employee, was shot in an antisemitic attack outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, DC. His body is expected to return to Israel soon. The attack, allegedly committed by Elias Rodriguez, has raised concerns about rising antisemitic violence alongside political protests. David Goldenberg from the Anti-Defamation League noted the necessity for protest leaders to condemn such violent expressions. Lichinsky served as a research assistant in the embassy after his military service, and his girlfriend, Sarah Milgrim, was also killed in the attack, having worked in the embassy's Public Diplomacy Department.
Loved ones of Lichinsky and representatives of the Israel Foreign Ministry will receive his coffin at an undisclosed airport before it's taken to a burial site.
Rodriguez allegedly shouted 'Free, free Palestine' after admitting to the shooting outside the museum. He told officers on the scene, 'I did it for Palestine, I did it for Gaza,' according to prosecutors.
David Goldenberg from the Anti-Defamation League stated that calls for Israel to stop military action have devolved into antisemitic acts.
Saying 'Free Palestine' is, in itself, not antisemitic. When the anti-Jewish chants begin, leaders must actively shut it down.
