Briefly

On Saturday, Luna Park in Coney Island reopened, drawing enthusiastic crowds eager for the first rides of the season. Dedicated fans arrived early, including David Zubin and Erik Knapp, who both shared touching stories about their connections to the park. With added attractions and perfect weather, the atmosphere was celebratory, as families and friends gathered to relish in nostalgia and create new memories. Local representatives emphasized the uplifting power of amusement parks. The reopening showcased not just rides, but also a community brought together through shared experiences and excitement for the season ahead.
"Don't lose your inner child," offered Knapp, who has the Cyclone tattooed on his right arm. "Usually, I come here a lot earlier, but my mom is sick. She's 83, and I am actually riding for my mom today."
State Rep. Alec Brook-Krasny said, 'I'm always saying, 'If you're in a good mood, come to Coney Island.' If you're in a bad mood, come to Coney Island - your mood will become better.'
Sarah Infante stated, "We started talking and now, we have new friends. The weather has been super and we're super excited for the ride. We are big rollercoaster fans and this will be our first time on the Cyclone."
Dick D. Zigun remarked, "I think this must be the most gorgeous opening day in the entire history of Luna Park."
