Lauren Boebert, a Colorado Republican, has come under fire for making a racially charged comment about disabled Black Congressman Al Green. Speaking on Real America's Voice, Boebert criticized Green's behavior during a protest against President Trump, likening his walking cane to a 'pimp cane.' The comments drew widespread condemnation on social media, where many accused her of casual racism. As a result, Democratic representative Chrissy Houlahan has introduced a censure resolution against Boebert, stressing the need to address disparaging remarks in political discourse.
Al Green was given multiple opportunities to stand down, to sit down, to behave, to show decorum, and he did not. For him to shake his pimp cane at president Trump was absolutely abhorrent.
We're tired of the casual racism being accepted by elected representatives, adding: "Enough is enough."
The words of the representative from Colorado are disparaging and reflect a deeper issue within our political discourse that must be addressed.
Saying this after shaking another man's pimp cane at Beetlejuice is diabolical.
