A recent report by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) reveals that American Jews faced over 25 antisemitic incidents every day last year, highlighting a record 9,354 incidents of assault, harassment, and vandalism in 2024. This alarming figure represents a 5% increase from 2023 and marks an 893% rise over the past decade. For the first time, incidents related to opposition to Israel constituted a majority, accounting for 58% of reported cases. The report underscores the ongoing struggle against antisemitism in various U.S. states, even amid large-scale protests against Israel linked to the Gaza conflict.
This horrifying level of antisemitism should never be accepted and yet, as our data shows, it has become a persistent and grim reality for American Jewish communities.
Jewish Americans continue to be harassed, assaulted and targeted for who they are on a daily basis and everywhere they go.
It's the first time that discrimination related to Israel or Zionism made up a majority of all incidents - 58% of the total.
ADL said opposition to Israel's policy does not equate to antisemitism - but often the protests spew Jew hatred.
