SKAI Isyourgod, born Chen Xukai in Guangdong, grew up listening to hip-hop and later shifted from folk to rap. At 28, he became the most-streamed Chinese-language artist on Spotify, the first mainland Chinese artist to achieve the record. His second album, Stacks from All Sides, released in summer 2024, fused Memphis rap influences with Southern China sounds and stories. The album used Mandarin, Cantonese, and Hakka lyrics alongside gritty trap production and deeply personal storytelling. Tracks such as Karma Code and Blueprint Supreme went viral via social media, moving him from underground favorite to viral phenomenon.
