Spotify has launched the Artist Profile Protection service to help artists control the content on their profiles. This initiative comes after incidents of fake tracks appearing under various artists, including deceased singer Blaze Foley. Smaller artists have also reported unauthorized releases. The new feature allows artists to opt in for a review step before content goes live, addressing frustrations expressed by artists regarding visibility and control over their music. Currently in limited beta, Spotify plans to expand this service to more artists in the future.
