Spotify is updating its mobile app with tools for organizing playlists and editing them in bulk. Playlist folders can be created on mobile, arranged and named, and nested inside other folders. Multiple songs or podcasts can be moved or removed from a playlist at the same time, and bulk editing also applies to the Spotify queue for changing or rearranging upcoming listening. A new reshuffle button can generate a fresh sequence for shuffled playlists or albums when the current order feels stale. Background downloads allow music and podcasts to download while using the phone, enabling offline playback later. Playlist folders and bulk editing are available globally, while queue bulk editing, background downloads, and reshuffle require Premium.
