Drake Becomes First Artist to Hold Top Three Billboard 200 Spots
Drake released three new LPs—Iceman, Habibti, and Maid of Honour—on May 15, creating a simultaneous chart sweep. Billboard reports that he became the first artist to hold No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3 on the Billboard 200 in the same week since the chart moved to a consistent weekly schedule in 1956. The achievement is framed as a technicality because Michael Jackson’s posthumous unit performance in 2009 would have produced a similar top-three result, but a rule excluded albums released more than 18 months earlier from weekly chart calculations. The new albums are Drake’s first solo releases since 2023’s For All The Dogs and follow legal disputes tied to the Kendrick Lamar beef.
"Iceman, Habibti, and Maid of Honour marked Drake's first new solo albums since 2023's For All The Dogs. (Crucially, it's also his first LP drop since the Kendrick Lamar beef that became so ubiquitous it reached the Super Bowl LIX halftime show and led Drake to sue his own label, UMG, a legal dispute he references multiple times across his latest trio of LPs. The suit was dismissed in October 2025.)"
