The production opened in Belfast in 2024 and has toured internationally. The staging is a larger-than-life hybrid of concert and theater designed for massive venues, combining a full symphonic orchestra, a cast of several dozen, and enormous LED projections that transform Victor Hugo's revolution into a sensory spectacle. The project evolved from Les Miserables: The Staged Concert, a semi-staged London version later filmed for cinema release. Michael Cerveris will headline A Christmas Carol at the Perelman Performing Arts Center in an Old Vic adaptation by Jack Thorne directed by Matthew Warchus.
