17 New Songs Out Today
Holy Wave released the first single, “s33.U.IN/HAL,” ahead of the album i'm DADA on July 10 via Suicide Squeeze. The track is described as a prayer to a God of shortcomings and was developed from an early idea that was shelved, then revived during late demo practice when new ideas helped the song write itself. Hew shared “Reconciliation,” offering another taste of their debut album Your Version. Lucia & the Best Boys announced their album Picking Petals for July 31 via Communion and released “Big Romance,” featuring Abigail Morris of The Last Dinner Party.
"“'s33.u.in/HAL' is like a prayer to the God of shortcomings, a child God that we are raising to one day be our savior,” says the band's Ryan Fuson. “It was one of the first ideas we worked on for the album, but also one of the last songs we finished. I was listening to a lot of Wagon Christ at the time and wanted the song to basically be a Wagon Christ rip-off, but it just didn't feel right.”"
"“So the song was shelved to the 'maybe the next album' part of the new song catalog. Then, late in our demoing phase, Joey and Julian showed up to practice with some ideas for it. We played around with them, and the song literally just started to write itself. We finished that day with essentially the song done, sans lyrics and some finishing details, and it instantly became one of our favorites.”"
"“I still hope we put out the other version some day, but this is by far the better of the two.” - HEW - “RECONCILIATION” Hew have given us another taste of their debut album Your Version with the soaring “Reconciliation.”"
"“Lucia & The Best Boys release their new album Picking Petals on July 31 via Communion, and they've shared a new single, “Big Romance,” featuring Abigail Morris of The Last Dinner Party. Morris played keyboards with Lucia &am”"
