Brian King Joseph filed suit in California against Will Smith and Treyball Studios Management alleging predatory behavior, grooming, and priming for sexual exploitation during Smith's 2025 tour. Joseph says he was hired after appearing on stage with Smith in December 2024 to support the album Based on a True Story. Joseph reports that at a March 2025 Las Vegas show his bag and hotel room key disappeared and were returned hours later, and that his room had been unlawfully accessed with wipes, HIV medication bearing another name, and a note suggesting someone would return. Joseph notified hotel security, Smith's representatives, and a non-emergency police line, and says a member of management later shamed him and terminated his contract while implying he fabricated the incident. The lawsuit seeks damages for wrongful termination, retaliation, PTSD, and economic loss. Smith's attorney issued a denial of the allegations.
