"We had fun you can hear humour a bit on the album and we went through some tough times, existential crisis, and you can hear that too, says Theusen over a video call from her home in Copenhagen. Goodbyehouse became one of 2025's runaway underground successes thanks to that emotional openness as well as the duo's canny blend of Dido-esque balladry, shoegaze haze and minimalist pop."
"Snuggle is neither member's first band. In his early 20s, Strange played in the acclaimed electronic soul band Liss, who were signed to XL Recordings. The four-piece broke up after the lead singer Sren Holm, died by suicide in 2021. They released their final album in 2022, after Holm's death. I was kind of at my lowest I didn't know what my music should sound like, if I should even make music, he says. That had been my life."
"When we speak, Thuesen and Strange have just returned home from their final tour dates of the year, a brief run that left them both ailing. We get sick now after three weeks! Strange says, laughing. It was a lot easier when we were twentysomething. They need to get used to it: 2026 includes an extensive Danish tour before a handful of shows with Paramore's Hayley Williams and stops at Barcelona's Primavera Sound and Denmark's Roskilde festival."
Snuggle is a Copenhagen-based Danish duo formed by Andrea Thuesen and Vilhelm Strange. Their debut album Goodbyehouse was released on Escho and emerged from a period of major personal upheaval and limited comfort. The album mixes Dido-like balladry, shoegaze textures and minimalist pop with moments of humour and existential openness. The record became a 2025 underground success. The duo recently completed a brief tour and plan extensive Danish dates in 2026 plus shows with Hayley Williams, Primavera Sound and Roskilde festival appearances. Strange previously played in Liss and experienced the death of lead singer Sren Holm in 2021. Thuesen was a member of Baby in Vain and encountered setbacks after Covid.
