Watch Robert Plant Perform Led Zeppelin's "Ramble On" on Colbert
""What I like about the American thing is it's a lot more bloodthirsty and there's a lot more treachery. It's broken hearts, love doesn't work quite so well.""
""It's quite remarkable, the difference in the nationalities that make up the United States, the change in attitude in different places, which manifests itself in local music.""
Robert Plant and his band Saving Grace appeared on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, performing Led Zeppelin's 'Ramble On' and a roots version of 'Higher Rock.' In a pre-show interview, Plant discussed traditional folk music, his dislike of sea shanties, and the differences between English and American music. He noted the more intense emotional themes in American music. Plant has been performing with Saving Grace since 2019, and they recorded their first album primarily in a field, touring the U.S. last fall.
