'Voice of the Revolution' in concert in Campbell Sept. 7

Hamza Namira, an Egyptian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, gained prominence during the 25 January 2011 revolution and was considered the "Voice of the Revolution." His music features sociopolitical themes. Namira will perform at Campbell's Heritage Theatre on Sept. 7, with the concert starting at 7 p.m. and tickets priced $60–$105. A delegation of 16 students from Taipei City, accompanied by a project teacher and administrators, visited San Jose to present STEAM projects to peers at Silicon Valley Career Technical Education (SVCTE). SVCTE is run by the Metropolitan Education District (MetroED) and partners with sister schools in Taipei. Student projects included a medical assistant robot, new waste disposal solutions, environmental sustainability improvements, and a response-time training system for the elderly; each student completed a review process with professors in Taipei before traveling.
