Vancouver Wine & Jazz Festival: Sips & sounds in the park * Oregon ArtsWatch
Briefly

The Vancouver Wine & Jazz Festival began in 1998 in a vacant lot formerly occupied by the Lucky Lager brewery. Sod from old Civic Stadium was donated in 1999. The festival relocated to Esther Short Park in its third year and celebrated its 25th anniversary after recovering from pandemic interruptions. The three-day event runs Aug. 22-24 and showcases artists including Stanley Jordan, Arturo Sandoval, David Benoit, Shemekia Copeland and Take 6. More than 100 Grammy winners have appeared onstage. Recent attendance included visitors from 27 states and over 100 cities, with roughly 70 percent coming from outside Vancouver. The event emphasizes wine, music, art and a relaxed park atmosphere without a beer garden.
Between music, art and wine, we've wanted to create a cultural festival,
There's no beer garden. You get a glass of wine, sit on the grass, enjoy a meal, play chess, listen to great music, enjoy the day.
Between here and Monterey (California), there's not anything like it.
