""Going back to 2009 has brought up so many memories - it really does feel like another world," they wrote. "This album means a lot to us, and we hope it still means something to you, too. Thank you for being here, always.""
""I think Oliver [Sim] and Jamie [xx] and I have all tried new things and learned a lot from different projects, and I think that's quite healthy to be like, 'What have you learned? What should we do now?'""
""you'll still be able to tell it's us.""
The xx released a deluxe edition of their self-titled debut album that adds five bonus tracks: two new songs, "Insects" and "Blood Red Moon," plus covers of "Teardrops," "Do You Mind," and "Hot Like Fire." A special deluxe vinyl version will be released on December 5 and is available for pre-order. The band reflected on returning to 2009 memories and expressed gratitude to fans. The original debut arrived in 2009 to critical acclaim and featured singles "Crystalised," "Islands," and "VCR." The trio has been working on a fourth album in sessions described as "wide open" and will play multiple 2024 festivals.
