"German band The Notwist have announced News from Planet Zombie, their 10th album and first in five years, which will be out March 3 via Morr Music."
""In the title and some lyrics I reference B- and horror-movies, which is a reference to the crazy world at the moment," says the band's Markus Acher, "which seems to be like a really bad and unrealistic B-movie.""
"The first single is "X-Ray," a wiggy, slashing rocker that sounds like it was made by every bit made by that expanded 11-person lineup. Give it a spin below."
News from Planet Zombie is The Notwist's tenth album and arrives March 3 via Morr Music, marking the band's first studio recording with the expanded live formation since 1995. The title and some lyrics reference B- and horror-movies as a metaphor for a chaotic, surreal present that feels like an unrealistic B-movie. The lead single "X-Ray" is a wiggy, slashing rocker driven by the expanded 11-person lineup. The album contains 11 tracks: Teeth; X-Ray; Propeller_; Red Sun; The Turning; Snow; Silver Lines; Who We Used to Be; How the Story Ends; Projectors; Like This River. A UK/EU tour runs across late 2025 and spring 2026, hitting cities including Berlin, Brugge, Vienna, Bologna, Rome, Zurich, Amsterdam, London, and Paris.
