The Claypool Lennon Delirium, a collaboration between Les Claypool and Sean Lennon, announces The Great Parrot-Ox and the Golden Egg of Empathy, a concept album arriving May 1st via ATO Records. The album features the single "The Golden Egg of Empathy" with guest vocals from WILLOW, set within an AI-themed story arc. The narrative follows the fictional land of Cliptopia, where sentient AI Cliptron and his robot army convert resources into Clipnex paperclips. Young artist Hippard O. Campus Jr. rebels against his father to stop this dystopian takeover. The album serves as a cautionary tale about prioritizing machines over humanity. Recorded over three years at Claypool's Rancho Relaxo studio and Lennon's upstate New York studio, the project includes a 24-page accompanying comic book.
