"While most schools are already back in session, some may consider the true end of Portland summer when Kickstand Comedy hosts its final showcase of the season. Grab your pals with a sense of humor and drop your blankets earlythe free stand-up show has been known to draw crowds of 4,000 or more. The plus side of the bonkers crowd is the unmatched dog-watching; I'm a fan of Laurelhurst duck-watching, too."
"Noche Libre presents a night of nostalgic tunes inspired by their childhoods growing up in Ecuador, Honduras, and California. The music will transport you to a time when old school cumbia and salsa music spun on the record player while family members chatted and delicious smells wafted from the kitcheneven if that's not at all similar to your childhood. DJs Lapaushi, Tati, and Mami Miami will be spinning throwbacks from regueton viejo ("old reggaeton" in Spanish) to Miami freestyle"
"This is a real-deal community and activism gathering that has so much going on, there will be something for everyone! There will be a pinata in the shape of our least favorite president to bash, cornhole, queer art, and opportunities for connection with direct action and advocacy groups. You're encouraged to wear a mask to the FREE event, and bring mutual aid donations, i.e. clean clothes and shelf-stable food."
