""crank the saw a little bit,""
""Mike's part of our DNA, like the fabric of our youth,""
""Literally, we studied him. He's a dear friend now, but when we were younger, I was imitating him.""
""My peculiar challenge in this was to become a long distant cousin. A brother that was orphaned. Maybe they kept him in the chicken coop or some shit. They brought him out years and years later.""
"Heaven's Breath" is a heavier single from the Avett Brothers and Mike Patton's collaborative album AVTT/PTTN, featuring fuzzed-out guitar and a driving post-punk groove. Mike Patton sings lead while the Avett Brothers provide harmonies during the melodic chorus build. The track was Scott Avett's first contribution to the AVTT/PTTN project and served as an initial offering intended to "crank the saw a little bit." The song follows the previously released lead single "Eternal Love," and both tracks will be the only advance releases. The nine-song LP was produced by Mike Patton, Scott Avett, and Grammy-winning engineer Dana Nielsen.
