I truly have to pinch myself." The Afghan Whigs formed in Cincinnati in 1986, and after several studio albums, disbanded in 2001. The band reformed in 2012 and have since released three studio albums: Do to the Beast (2014), In Spades (2017), and How Do You Burn? (2022)."
The Afghan Whigs will celebrate their 40th anniversary with a 2026 North American tour, with Mercury Rev opening for the entire run. The tour begins in Woodstock, New York on April 25 and includes major North American cities, ending in Pioneertown, California on May 24. An artist pre-sale begins Wednesday, January 21 at 10:00 a.m. local time using the password Whigs40; general public tickets go on sale Friday, January 23 at 10:00 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster and the band's website.
