"The second night features the Terrapin All-Stars (Lesh on bass, plus Stu Allen, Scott Guberman and Sunshine "Garcia" Becker), musically re-creating the December 1978 concert commemorating closing of the famed Winterland Ballroom, a landmark Grateful Dead event captured on a four-CD set released in 2003."
Two consecutive nights present distinct Grateful Dead–centered performances. Saturday's show features the Terrapin Family Band — guitarists Grahame Lesh and Ross James, drummer Alex Koford and Ross James on keys — that draws on the Grateful Dead songbook as a springboard for extended jams and improvisation. The second night showcases the Terrapin All-Stars with Lesh on bass, Stu Allen, Scott Guberman and Sunshine "Garcia" Becker recreating the December 1978 Winterland Ballroom closing concert originally captured on a four-CD set released in 2003. Terrapin Winterfest is scheduled for Sat, Dec 20 at 8pm at the Guild Theatre in Menlo Park with $69 tickets and a livestream link provided.
