"PATIENT FOR THE ENCORE."
"I never want to forget a single detail of this hysterical shoot, and now I don't have to!"
"In our metaphor, inanimate objects represent the kind of toxic relationship they're in,"
"So I think I'm best friends with this rock who is always weighing me down."
"The whole cactus as a girlfriend thing is complicated - but it's nice, I think the idea of finding the right person is the whole thing."
Taylor Swift premiered the 'Opalite' music video on Feb. 6 and released a two-part extended behind-the-scenes version a week later on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and Tidal. Fans noticed a blink-and-you-miss-it sign reading 'PATIENT FOR THE ENCORE.' In the first behind-the-scenes segment, Swift explains that inanimate objects symbolize toxic relationships: her character is close to a rock that weighs her down, while Domhnall Gleeson's character is hurt by a cactus. The extended footage highlights on-set interactions and cameos from Greta Lee, Jodie Turner-Smith, Graham Norton, Lewis Capaldi, and Gleeson; Cillian Murphy voiced the infomercial. Swift said she had wondered for a year what to do for the video and found inspiration in a prior Graham Norton Show appearance.
