"When Sugar announced their reunion back in October, frontman Bob Mould noted he wanted "to see if people are still interested" before announcing any "more songs or more shows." Well, the reaction to the group's first song in 30 years, "House of Dead Memories," and sold out New York and London residencies appears to confirm people are definitely still interested, so Sugar have announced a full international tour and shared the new single "Long Live Love.""
"According to a press release, "Long Live Love" and "House of Dead Memories" were recorded together in June 2025. The chugging new track finds Mould encouraging himself to keep pushing through the knowledge that love and pain go hand in hand: "The heartache will set in/ And I fly like a peregrine/ Marking off the distance with a freshly tainted styptic." Watch the music video below."
"As for Sugar's live shows, the "Love You Even Still 2026 World Tour" will pick up right after the band's previously announced May residencies. They'll stop in Belfast on May 26th and go on to Manchester, Dublin, Glasgow, and another London stop on June 4th, before heading to the EU for shows in Oslo, Copenhagen, Berlin, Paris, Antwerp and more."
Sugar reunited and tested interest with a new song and sold-out New York and London residencies, prompting a full international tour and a second single. "Long Live Love" and "House of Dead Memories" were recorded together in June 2025, with the new track exploring perseverance amid love and pain. A 7-inch single of the two songs will be released May 1 via BMG with pre-orders available. The Love You Even Still 2026 World Tour follows May residencies, hitting multiple UK, EU and US cities. Pre-sales start January 27 and general sales January 30 with ticket charity donations.
