Spotify launches offline lyrics, translations, and lyric previews
"Lyric translations were originally introduced in 2022, but have only been available in specific markets so far. Now, they're rolling out worldwide to both free and premium Spotify users, who will soon start seeing a translation icon in the lyrics section on the app. When you tap this, "translations will appear based on your device's language," if a translation is available."
"Spotify is also rolling out lyric previews worldwide for free and premium users. This feature adds a condensed lyrics box between the song title and the album art, so you can see a song's lyrics without switching to the full-screen lyrics view. Lastly, Spotify Premium users worldwide are getting access to offline lyrics. When you download tracks on Spotify, the lyrics will now also be saved."
Spotify expanded its lyrics features globally, adding translations, condensed previews, and offline lyrics storage. Lyric translations, first introduced in 2022 in select markets, will now display a translation icon and show translations based on the device language when available. Lyric previews add a compact lyrics box between the song title and album art so listeners can read lines without opening full-screen lyrics. Premium subscribers can download tracks and have associated lyrics saved for offline access. The lyric previews and translations are available to both free and premium users worldwide, while offline lyrics are limited to Premium users.
