Social Distortion Announce First Album in 15 Years, Unleash Title Track "Born To Kill"
"The first Social Distortion album since Ness' recovery from a bout with cancer, Born To Kill brims with aggressive optimism. The album wastes no time letting the listener know where its heart is, with its title track and mission statement dropping nods to Lou Reed ('Rock 'n' Roll Animal gonna come your way!') and Iggy and the Stooges ('The agenda is yeah to Search and Destroy')."
"Social Distortion have been performing the song 'Born To Kill' over the past few years, and now it gets its proper studio release, along with an official music video. It's one of 11 songs on the upcoming album."
Social Distortion announced Born To Kill, their first studio album since 2011's Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes. The 11-track album releases May 8th and represents the band's first LP following frontman Mike Ness's recovery from tonsil cancer in 2023. The title track, performed by the band for years, now receives its official studio release with an accompanying music video. The album features aggressive optimism and references iconic punk influences including Lou Reed, Iggy and the Stooges, and David Bowie. Simultaneously, Social Distortion announced a 2026 North American headlining tour with Descendents as special guests, beginning late August. Artist pre-sales started February 25th, with general ticket sales beginning February 27th via Ticketmaster.
