Sleater-Kinney & Fred Armisen formed Ramones tribute band called The Return of Jackie and Judy, playing shows
"The finale of the first season of Everybody's Live With John Mulaney on Netflix closed with Sleater-Kinney and Fred Armisen covering Kim Wilde's '80s classic "Kids in America." For the season wrap party, Mulaney asked them to perform a few Ramones covers. They had so much fun doing it, they decided to keep it going. They learned a full set and played two sold-out Halloween shows in Portland and you can watch video of that below."
"Having now given the group a name, The Return of Jackie and Judy (named after a song on the band's 1980 album End of the Century), they're taking the tribute act on the road. So far they've only announced one show - Bottlerock in Napa, CA in June - but they say we can expect a few more "select live appearances across the country." Stay tuned."
The Everybody's Live With John Mulaney finale featured Sleater-Kinney and Fred Armisen covering Kim Wilde's '80s hit "Kids in America." A season wrap party request led them to perform several Ramones covers, which they enjoyed enough to continue. The musicians learned a full Ramones set and played two sold-out Halloween shows in Portland, with video available. The group named itself The Return of Jackie and Judy, taken from a song on the Ramones' 1980 album End of the Century. The tribute act is going on the road, with Bottlerock in Napa announced and more select live appearances expected.
