Sepultura Invited Cavalera Brothers to Take Part in Final Show But They Declined
"We did invite the Cavalera brothers [to reunite with Sepultura at the final show], said Kisser. I spoke to Iggor personally on a phone call a few months ago and we started some communication. Even our managers went to talk to their management and stuff. But, they don't want to be a part of it, and that's OK. It's a choice."
"It would make sense to have a celebration at the end, for the fans, and just to enjoy ourselves onstage... like it was on [our 1996 album] Roots, you know? Despite all the fucking crazy stuff around it, we managed to make that album and finish what we had to do."
Sepultura is on a farewell tour culminating in São Paulo, Brazil. Founding members Max and Iggor Cavalera were invited to the final concert but declined. Guitarist Andreas Kisser communicated with Iggor and their management, but the brothers chose not to participate. Kisser expressed disappointment, wishing for a celebratory reunion for fans. Max left Sepultura in 1996, and Iggor departed in 2006. Sepultura's tour includes dates through early August, starting in Montclair, New Jersey, and ending in Los Angeles.
