Saratoga students to perform at Carnegie Hall in April
"More than 50 Prospect High School students will be playing at a band and orchestra festival at Carnegie Hall in New York City next spring. The Prospect High School Band and Orchestra were invited to perform at the National Band & Orchestra Festival. The Saratoga students will be traveling with Prospect's music director AJ Gonzales. He has been teaching for four years, and this is his first trip to Carnegie Hall with WorldStrides, a student travel company."
"Acclaimed concert organist Sook Hyun Kim will be playing at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church on Sept. 19 as part of the church's concert series. Kim is known for playing the organ at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in Los Angeles. She was the organist at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington D.C. in 2013 and 2014 during the annual Christmas concert. She recently played in venues throughout Paris in the International Organ Music Seminar."
More than 50 Prospect High School students will travel to New York City to perform at the National Band & Orchestra Festival at Carnegie Hall from April 1–5, 2026. The Prospect High School Band and Orchestra earned an invitation and will travel with music director AJ Gonzales. Gonzales has four years of teaching experience and will make his first Carnegie Hall trip with WorldStrides. Students will rehearse and perform under nationally acclaimed conductors and adjudicators and participate in educational workshops. The school launched a fundraiser to offset trip expenses and to purchase new and refurbished instruments and sheet music.
