"RIP Magic, the UK band led by Sorry's electronics/production man Marco Pini, made their US live debut back in December opening a few of LCD Soundsystem's Knockdown Center shows. They had a white label 12″ for sale at the merch table with a note attached that read "Produced By James Murphy." That single will be out as an official 12″ via DFA on March 6 and it's streaming now."
""5words" is a slow-build banger, heavy on the rhythm section and eventually growing to incorporate all sorts of keyboards and electronic production. The flipside features a fantastic, dance-forward remix by the great Maurice Fulton, who here gets his first DFA credit since 2008. RIP Magic will be back in North America this spring as openers on Fcukers' tour and when that is over they'll play their first US headline show at NYC's Night Club 101 on April 23."
