Nathan Smith, 27, known professionally as DJ Young Slade, left his Milton home under unusual circumstances early Tuesday morning and was reported missing after leaving on foot without a phone. Milton police and other agencies searched the area amid concern that he may be disoriented and in need of assistance. Cherokee County fire department divers found a body in a pond near his residence shortly before noon Friday, believed to be Smith pending confirmation by the Fulton County Medical Examiner. Police report no indication of foul play so far, and the Milton Police Department Criminal Investigation unit is involved. Lil Jon and Nicole Smith described Nathan as a talented music producer, artist, engineer and New York University graduate and said they are devastated.
