Fetty Wap was convicted of conspiracy to distribute cocaine and was sentenced in May 2023 to six years in prison and five years of post-release supervision. He was transferred on January 7, 2026 from the Federal Correctional Institution in Sandstone, Minnesota to community confinement overseen by the BOP's Philadelphia Residential Reentry Management Office. He is now under home confinement with a projected release date of November 8, 2026. He thanked family, friends and fans and said he will focus on expanding education, early tech skills and vision care for at-risk children through his community initiatives and foundation.
