A Los Angeles jury found Cardi B not liable in a civil assault lawsuit filed by former security guard Emani Ellis. Ellis alleged Cardi B hit her, scratched her face, spat on her and caused cuts requiring plastic surgery during an incident at a Beverly Hills medical office in 2018. Cardi B said she was pregnant at the time, claimed Ellis was recording her entering an OB-GYN without consent, and denied touching Ellis. Ellis sought medical expenses, compensation for emotional and physical suffering, lost wages, and punitive damages. Jury reached a quick not-liable verdict.
"Yes, I was angry!" "Because I'm pregnant!" Cardi replied. "And this girl's about to beat my a**!"
"The defendant came here, used all of this foul language. This is a court of law, you cannot speak this way in court. I have never seen this before. It's a disrespect to us and a disrespect to the judge, courthouse," attorney Ron Rosen Janfaza said.
"suing me for $24 million."
