Radiohead Announce First Tour in 7 Years
"Last year, we got together to rehearse, just for the hell of it. After a seven year pause, it felt really good to play the songs again and reconnect with a musical identity that has become lodged deep inside all five of us. It also made us want to play some shows together, so we hope you can make it to one of the upcoming dates. For now, it will just be these ones but who knows where this will all lead."
"Radiohead's last round of dates wrapped in 2018, after two years on the road behind A Moon Shaped Pool. The subsequent seven-year gap is the longest of the band's career, encompassing Yorke's solo album ; the formation of the Smile, his band with Jonny Greenwood and drummer Tom Skinner, which has released three studio albums; and his collaborative LP with Mark Pritchard, ."
Radiohead will tour Europe from November through December with four-night runs in London, Berlin, Madrid, Bologna, and Copenhagen. Tickets are available by registration on Radiohead's website, with registration opening at 5 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time (10 a.m. British Summer Time) on Friday, September 5. The band rehearsed last year after a seven-year pause and felt renewed, prompting the decision to play shows again. The seven-year gap included Thom Yorke's solo work, the formation of the Smile and its releases, collaborative projects, solo albums from Ed O'Brien and Philip Selway, film scores, a classical debut and theater adaptation, and Jonny Greenwood's ongoing film composing. A new limited liability partnership formed in March suggested renewed activity.
