Pavement has released their first new studio recording in 25 years—a cover of Jim Pepper's "Witchitai-To," featured in the soundtrack of an experimental biopic directed by Alex Ross Perry. This marks Pavement's first new release since their 1999 EP Major Leagues and was recorded during rehearsals for their 2022 reunion tour. The song, initially released by Pepper in 1969, was often performed during the reunion. The complete soundtrack also includes additional recordings from the reunion and contributions from the band’s jukebox musical, Slanted! Enchanted!
