aethermead, the 20th studio album by of Montreal, is set to release on June 5th. It serves as a breakup record and an account of personal rebirth for Kevin Barnes. Following a breakup and a move from Vermont to Brooklyn, Barnes found inspiration in his daily walks in Prospect Park and a new meditation practice. The album was recorded in New York with members of the live band. The first single, 'When,' explores themes of yearning and confusion in a rebound relationship.
