"Banjo player Nora Brown and fiddler Stephanie Coleman found each other in 2017 in Brooklyn's old-time scene. Six years later, they released their first EP as a duo, Lady of the Lake. They've shared stages around the world and on NPR's Tiny Desk series. Fiddle and banjo alike can be known for their foot-stomping, hyperactive qualities, but both instruments are also capable of a haunting, almost mournful sound."

Nora Brown and Stephanie Coleman met in 2017 within Brooklyn's old-time music scene and formed a duo that released its first EP, Lady of the Lake, six years later. The pair have performed on stages worldwide and appeared on NPR's Tiny Desk series. Both banjo and fiddle can produce energetic, foot-stomping music, but Brown and Coleman focus on a haunting, almost mournful sound. Their arrangements emphasize subdued, gorgeous harmonies layered atop fiddle and banjo textures. A live performance is scheduled for Wed, Jan 7 at 7pm at Kuumbwa Jazz Center in Santa Cruz, $26-$32.
