The box set titled 'I Can't Give Everything Away' chronicles David Bowie's artistic journey from 2002 to 2016, featuring 13 CDs and 18 vinyl pieces. The collection includes the 2002 album 'Heathens,' produced in upstate New York with Tony Visconti. Bowie’s 2003 album 'Reality' was crafted for his touring band and re-sequenced for the box set. In 2013, Bowie and Visconti secretly recorded 'The Next Day,' aiming for creative freedom without external pressure, maintaining secrecy even from their partners.
“There was no control room. The console was at one end of the studio, and the band was placed at the other end,” Visconti recalled.
“We vowed not to tell a soul that David and we were making a new album - and that even included our domestic partners,” Visconti remembered. “His two-fold purpose was to write and create without pressure from the outside.”
