My Dying Bride have permanently parted ways with founding vocalist Aaron Stainthorpe. Stainthorpe cofounded the band in 1990 and stepped away from touring last year amid tensions with guitarist Andrew Craighan, shortly before the release of the band's latest album, A Mortal Binding. The band resumed touring with Swallow the Sun's Mikko Kotamäki filling in on lead vocals and has now confirmed the split as permanent. The band released a statement describing the decision as difficult, citing a need to preserve the band's legacy and expressing best wishes for Stainthorpe's solo endeavours. My Dying Bride completed their 2025 tour on September 28 in Barcelona and currently have no upcoming concerts scheduled.
