Modest Mouse have returned with a new song titled "Look How Far..." featuring Janet Weiss on drums, formerly of Sleater-Kinney and currently of Quasi. Over the past five years since their last album The Golden Casket, the band remained active through reissuing Good News for People Who Love Bad News for its 20th anniversary, touring with notable acts including Cat Power, Pixies, the Flaming Lips, and Built to Spill, and launching two new music festivals in 2025, including one on a boat. The band will tour North America beginning in July and perform at My Chemical Romance's Black Parade 20th anniversary show in Milwaukee, with dates spanning multiple venues and festivals across the continent through August.
