Mad Caddies formed in Goleta, California in 1995 and built a third-wave ska punk sound grounded in traditional ska textures. The band blends reggae, rockabilly, Latin, polka and swing jazz influences into inventive, genre-crossing arrangements. The group first recorded in 1997 with Quality Soft Core and released its ninth full-length, Arrows Room 117, in 2024. Over more than 30 years nearly 20 musicians have passed through the lineup. A new six-piece ensemble led by founder and singer-guitarist Chuck Robertson has been together since 2023. The band will play The Ritz in San Jose on Jan 27.
