"Lost Slipknot Album" Look Outside Your Window to Be Released on Record Store Day 2026
"Slipknot's long-shelved 2008 album, Look Outside Your Window, is finally seeing the light of day as a Record Store Day 2026 release. Rather than being branded as a proper Slipknot release, the 12-inch vinyl is labeled as a self-titled project from Look Outside Your Window. Limited to 2,300 copies, the fabled album was recorded as a side project by band members Corey Taylor, Jim Root, Sid Wilson, and Shawn "Clown" Crahan during the 2008 sessions for Slipknot's fourth LP, All Hope Is Gone."
"Created during a chaotic time in our shared history, the songs were born late at night, in a house on a farm in the middle of nowhere. Peering out through a big picture window, we wondered about what, or who, might be lurking outside. That sense of the unknown seeped into the music itself. There were no rules; ideas could come from anywhere: subtle drum loops, bits of organ or abstract guitar noise, even samples of frogs or crickets."
Look Outside Your Window will be released on Record Store Day 2026 as a 12-inch vinyl credited to Look Outside Your Window instead of Slipknot. The release is limited to 2,300 copies. The album was recorded as a side project during 2008 sessions for All Hope Is Gone by Corey Taylor, Jim Root, Sid Wilson, and Shawn "Clown" Crahan. The project was named as a tribute to an experimental spirit and was created late at night in a farmhouse, with unconventional elements such as drum loops, organ bits, abstract guitar noise, and samples of frogs and crickets. Earlier teased release dates were missed, and a 10-track listing has been provided.
