Rather than involving the police, they recorded him at a 24-hour halal spot as he enthusiastically described his imagined mythology - complete with strange characters and alternate spaces - embedded in the songs, which initially seemed incoherent but gradually became captivating."
Theft World is scheduled for release May 1 via Partisan. The band's Brent Kaser and Connor Kleitz produced the album. The album's origin stems from frontman Bret Kaser discovering his identity had been stolen and used to buy the band’s discography. The band tracked down the culprit, recorded a young fan describing an imagined mythology, and used that accidental universe as the creative foundation for the record. The album explores themes of stealing, transformation, and creating beauty from the absurd. The first single is "Legs in a Snare," and a spring tour with Bejal was announced.
